This program is part of the 2018 Lowell Celebrates Kerouac festival On this 60^th anniversary of the publication of Kerouac’s novel The Dharma Bums, Dr. Ann Charters. Retired Professor of English at the University of Connecticut will present her thoughts on Kerouac’s Bay Area encounter with Buddhism and poet Gary Snyder. Dr. Charters is the author of the first published biography of Jack Kerouac.
