The Airborne Comedians are two performers who've traveled the globe performing their high-energy, unorthodox comedy juggling show to the delight of all ages. Dan Foley and Joel Harris throw and catch birdbaths, lawn-chairs, electric guitars, and baseball bats in their hilarious juggling routines while balanced atop 6- and 7-foot-high unicycles! A sure bet to make you laugh.

Little Groove is an interactive live music experience designed for kids and their whole families. “Listening to New England,” is a 45-50 minute talk with PowerPoint images by longtime Yankee Magazine editor Mel Allen. Drawing from Allen’s nearly half century of reporting and writing about the unique people and places of New England for Yankee magazine, he will let the audience see and feel the region in a unique way. He will also share how Yankee Magazine has survived for 90 years since its founding in 1935. A Q&A and book signing will follow.

One of our featured events of Lowell Celebrates Kerouac will be an art exhibit at the Whistler House with New Jersey artist Jonathan Collins. The Whistler Museum of Art will have an exhibit of his work from late August through October. Collins has created some beautiful representations of various Beat Generation figures— Jack Kerouac and others, as well as paintings of some of the Kerouac sites of Lowell (Jack's birthplace, places mentioned in his Lowell novels, etc.).

Annie Powell (1859-1952) was born in West Yorkshire, England. Even though as a girl she worked in the textile mills to support her family, she owned a box camera at about age 15. As she was an active commercial photographer at age 91, her photographic career is one of the longest in history. She took thousands of beautiful photos of Lowell, but they are unattributed or misattributed in public archives like University of Massachusetts Lowell and Lowell National Historical Parks.
